This app no longer works. I have IOS 18.3.2

I hate typing a word in and having it changed for no reason. Can I eliminate this new feature?

I’m a writer, use this dictionary several times a day. It is extremely versatile, and I have never entered even the most obscure word without finding it here. One payment gives access to a powerful, useful tool…..for life. This is one of the best values on the app store, hands-down! And if you work in the medical field, take a look at their medical dictionaries as well! The company’s name is Farlex.

Really good has any word you could think of! One thing I think you should add is dates like what will happen on those dates or what national holidays will occur then

I have learned quite a bit from this app and I find it fun and handy to use.

Best dictionary app ever!!

Very useful information at the tips of your fingerprints, especially when writing papers etc.

Because anyone who knows knows that translation can’t be done by AI. Language is so nuanced. Do your best when trying to speak a language, but don’t stress. Wondering about a concept or word you want to use? Look it up here! Slower than copy-paste sentences, but you’ll be much better off this way. For example, “key” in English can mean several things. In Spanish you might use clave, llave… depending on what sort of key you mean.

Everything was fine until recently when you change the language from english to spanish. Why would you do that? Can you please return it back to english, since it was done on your end and not mines. I try to go to setting but couldn’t fine language or any other way to turn it back. Just because my last name is spanish doesn’t mean that I read or write spanish.

Used to be a great app, been using for years but now it’s littered with ads which they keep adding more with every update. I guess it’s finally time to move on

Occasionally I come across a word that I am unsure of it's meaning and since I have Dictionary on my phone I can look it up right away! It is laid out very nicely and easy to use!

Great app. Clear definitions and it can say the word so u don’t sound stupid when u go 2 use it. It’s the only dictionary I use.

Often when I look up a word, the app will instead open my web browser and display the definition there. As a result, I cannot add these words to my flash cards.

Free version is the most annoying app that I've ever used for anything

Something’s up. Can’t login via the app or the website. The Help link email is also offline.

After many years of otherwise good usage and a large, extensive list of saved words, upon recently opening my paid Dictionary Pro iOS v13.1 app, all saved words were gone. Support responded with a request to login, despite my active logon status. I can only hope they have stored these in my account on their Cloud servers. We'll see.

Like the other person, I’ve also just lost all my bookmarks. I have had this app for years and never had any issues with this. So disappointed as I used this feature frequently. All of them are gone :( EDIT— it was indeed because I had gotten logged out. Updated my rating!

One day my bookmarks were there and next day they were gone. Nothing odd at all occurred between the two times I used the app.

It’s very good. I can find many definitions. I am a librarian-I use the dictionary daily. I also enjoy writing short essays, your dictionary is a powerful tool for researching information. Linda Haynes Manigo

I would have rated this five stars except it seems that the placement of the ads just below where you press to hear the pronunciation for USA or UK it is hard to get without opening a dang ad, it was not this way when I started using this app a few years ago. I find this now to be very annoying.

It often keeps your most recent word in the search box, and then even after you clear it and start typing the new word, it puts the old word back in front of what you’re typing and messes it up, requiring you to delete it a second time and type the new word a second time. Very annoying!

Educational app to use.

Advertisement keeps coming up in Free version while I’m trying to learn. It needs to be like Facebook giving a choice of reading in still image in home page scrolling down. I will click on ad of my choice.

My son uses this often. His readying and vocabulary has grown tremendously. I have the app too, and I love it!!!!!

I congratulate you for the many features your app has which is absent in many dictionary apps. If it weren’t for the inability to “Clear Recents” individually, I would give your app a four-star rating. I have previously suggested this, but “Clear Recents” still clears every word which has been searched. The list of searched items becomes increasingly lengthy. That creates an inconvenient time-consuming search. How handy it would be to save a list of preferred words to keep. There are other dictionary apps which allow a choice of words to delete or save. For this reason, I fore-go using your app more often and opt for an alternate app. I believe many others feel this sentiment as keenly as I do. Please consider my request as I speak for others in this regard.

Good for a learner

Since I like word games, I use this all the time. I also enjoy, exploring our language, and learning the derivation of many common everyday words.

Every upgrade appears to be just more ads. I’ve deleted it Since writing this the app developer wrote me saying the updates are mostly bug fixes and enhancements. Well I’ve never encountered a bug and I have not see any enhancements but I have seen A LOT MORE commercials or ads. Maybe that’s the enhancements and the bugs address the poor loading of ads. I have no use for this app as is. I can just google definitions etc.

It blew my mind on how much I learn and have FUN!

Interface is crude. No audio pronunciations.

Really progressive app for students .

It’s indispensable with almost endless resources for writing, maintaining and reinforcing grammar skills, and even referencing other languages. An endless source of language tools. For me It’s a daily must-have app.

Simple and easy and very helpful to understand the meaning of words

I love this app! It's easy to use and great for students. But it does have a few adds. I have a bunch of learning/education apps to help me grow in my learning skills. I added this one to my collection. All in all I would recommend this app to you reading this. It works great for a simple dictionary, but yet can do so much more!

Among other uses, it’s good for comparing words in relation to context. It works fine on my iPad and iPhone.

This app is so good if I want to look up a word it’s there

I enjoy most of your content especially matching words with their synonyms or antonyms. I do have a problem understanding the speaker, or whatever it is, on the spelling bee.
